My official prediction for tomorrow’s game…

Hawkeyes 27…Iowa State 13. DSC03654

Now, before all you Cyclone fans jump all over me for being a homer…let me clarify. I think this game is close until the final minutes. I think until the final few minutes, it’ll be 20-13, but the Hawkeyes will score a late TD to push it to 27-13. So, no, I’m not calling this a blowout…it’ll be close…it’ll just look worse in the end.

Listen, I’ll be first in line to admit that I have no clue what this Hawkeye team is capable/not capable of…they’re a complete mystery, and I think that’s what gives them the edge.

Most importantly…what will I drink? I’m thinking a pumpkin ale of some sort…I have been drinking this Founders’ “Dirty B*****d” ale…which is a Scotch Style Ale, and it’s been kicking my butt. It’s definitely a sipping beer.

Favorite Iowa/Iowa State Memory

For me…it had to be being in the North End Zone of Kinnick when Andy Brodell returned the punt for TD…in the rain, in a game where there was such a build-up…it was just a great, cathartic moment.

Like Father Like Son

My son wanted to “Dress like Daddy”…so he did…and pretty much nailed it…here we are side-by-side as proof…

Rocket Frog

Yes, it’s sad that the frog didn’t make it…but what a way to go!

Robert DeNiro

The great Robert DeNiro has a new movie out today, “The Family”…and it looks like something I will never see…I think I’m going to blame his beard. Once he grew the beard…well, he’s just been a slew of movies that look totally uninteresting (with the exception of “Silver Linings Playbook”)

REVIEW: ‘It Follows’ is the best American horror film in a decade

In this image released by Brigade Marketing, actress Maika Monroe appears in a scene of It Follows, directed by David Robert Mitchell. “It Follows,” has been arguably the buzziest American film at Cannes next to Bennett Miller’s wrestling drama “Foxcatcher,” which boasts a far more famous cast and a major premiere at the Palais des Festival.

"It Follows" is a horror movie worthy of classic comparisons.
