Potty Training

We are nearing the end of our first week of potty-training, and I’m blown away at how good Dexter is doing. A week ago, he had really no interest…and here we are now, I think accident-free for the past 4 days (still having an issue with #2, but baby-steps, right?)

It’s so funny watching him play…then he just walks into the other room, and he sits on his potty chair, and goes…or he stands…that’s hilarious, but we have to work on his aim.

I’m so darn proud of him.

Oh, and, yes, I did teach him that boys can pee on trees outside.

He thinks he’s making the tree bigger…ha!

Peyton Manning

I played against Peyton Manning in 2 of my 3 leagues…great…7 TDs…ridiculous. I’ve pretty much already lost twice…wow….oh, and ARRRRGGGGH.

Songs That I Can’t Get Enough Of

Gorilla – Bruno Mars

Wake Me Up – Avicci

Bezerk – Eminem

and…because it was featured in the movie “The Incredible Burt Wonderstone”…The Imagine Dragons’ “On Top of the World“.

On Top of the World has become a mood-changer for me…when I hear it, I feel empowered…and I feel optimistic. That’s a pretty good song.

Love it.

Jack Nicholson

Rumors are that the great Jack Nicholson might be retiring from acting because he’sCelebrities watch the Los Angeles Lakers play the San Antonio Spurs during the NBA Playoffs 2013 at the Staples Center having issues remembering his lines. That’s a shame…and it reminds me that I need to watch more Jack Nicholson movies. For instance, I have never seen “The Shining”…how is that possible?

My Top 5 Jack Nicholson Movies

5. Hoffa

4. Few Good Men

3. The Departed

2. One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest

1. Batman

Yes, Jack Nicholson’s role as The Joker will be forever how I’ll remember Jack. I’m sure he’s thrilled by this.

Good Eats

Tacopocalypse is open in the East Village…and there’s a new Gusto Pizza in West Des Moines. This is such good news…having more good food options is always a good thing.

Roar

So, my 1 1/2 year old daughter, Priscilla, loves the word “roar”…when I say “tiger roar” or “lion roar”, she roars right away.

So, what happens when Katy Perry’s “Roar” plays on Star 102.5…all I hear is my daughter roaring like a lion in the backseat. At first, I thought something was wrong, then i put 2 & 2 together.

Speaking of which…

Yes…more Katy Perry showering in the jungle please!

Dear 22nd Street

I hate everything about your construction right now.

That is all.

Eddie Murphy

He’s released a new song…and has hinted at a new album. There is nothing wrong about this. I won’t back away from this statement at all…Eddie Murphy is a musical magician, he makes magic music. Yep, I said that.

Not Sure About This

Ylvis “The Fox”….that’s the name…they’re calling this this year’s “Gangnam Style”…I don’t even understand this…I think I might like it though…but then the other 60% of me thinks this is the worst thing I’ve ever heard.

AWESOME is as AWESOME does!

REVIEW: ‘It Follows’ is the best American horror film in a decade

In this image released by Brigade Marketing, actress Maika Monroe appears in a scene of It Follows, directed by David Robert Mitchell. “It Follows,” has been arguably the buzziest American film at Cannes next to Bennett Miller’s wrestling drama “Foxcatcher,” which boasts a far more famous cast and a major premiere at the Palais des Festival.

"It Follows" is a horror movie worthy of classic comparisons.
