Kurt’s Blog: Mother’s Day Did NOT Help Our Waistlines

I’m Still Stuffed!

With my wife’s birthday on Saturday…and Mother’s Day on Sunday…the waistband expanded a bit…and here’s why…

Those are cupcakes from Scratch Cupcakery…and pizza from Gusto. Holy cow…still stuffed…and all consumed within a few hours by 3 adults & 2 kids. So good though…so freakin’ good.

Finally Catching Up on Movies

At the sacrifice of some probably much needed sleep, my wife & I are finally catching up on some movies that we wanted to watch.

Zero Dark Thirty – Incredible movie…absolutely AWESOME. My wife & I were at the edge of our seat for most of the movie…and the raid on Bin Laden’s compound was so intense. Loved it.

Silver Linings Playbook – We loved this one too….I know, shocker, we liked the movies that were up for “Best Picture”. Jennifer Lawrence was fantastic…but I thought it was Bradley Cooper who should have gotten more Oscar love. Plus, was that a Robert DeNiro sighting? A Robert DeNiro role finally suitable for Robert DeNiro? Welcome back!

The Bulls

My wife is getting slightly annoyed with my continous Bulls watching & talking about the Bulls, but I’m trying to make it up to her with a series of backrubs.

The Bulls/Heat series has just been absolutely insane…the intensity is crazy. I feel like we’re the Knicks (who I despise) from the mid 90s…we’re not going to win the series, but if you’re a Heat fan, you’re going to despise us, and we’ll keep irritating you.

Oh, and this happened…

That never happened to Michael Jordan…ever.

That was so great.

Tonight, the game is at 6…which means from 6-8:30, I’m a distracted parent/husband. My apologies in advance!

Happy Endings

I know not many people watched…or even knew about this show….hence why it was canceled, but I thought that this was the funniest show on TV. I will miss the laughs this show provided on a consistent basis.

AWESOME is as AWESOME does!

In this image released by Brigade Marketing, actress Maika Monroe appears in a scene of It Follows, directed by David Robert Mitchell. “It Follows,” has been arguably the buzziest American film at Cannes next to Bennett Miller’s wrestling drama “Foxcatcher,” which boasts a far more famous cast and a major premiere at the Palais des Festival.

"It Follows" is a horror movie worthy of classic comparisons.
