Kurt’s Blog: Really HBO? That’s Your Iowa Solution?

(the above photo is a fantastic Drake Relays alumni button from this past weekend)

So, at the end of Season 3 of HBO’s “Girls“….Hannah was accepted to the University of Iowa’s Writer’s Workshop. Very cool…but then Iowa said, thanks, but no thanks. HBO’s solution? Well, we’ll just film it in Staten Island…and call it Iowa. Not that it matters…but I looked at the two school side-by-side…and they don’t resemble each other at all. Not that it matters for the audience, but we in Iowa will know, right?

So the rumors are that Miranda Kerr & Justin Bieber hooked up….and now Selena Gomez & Orlando Bloom are hooking up? That’s just weird right? Revenge hook-up?

Craig Ferguson is leaving Late Late Night…which is a bummer. I hear he’s very good, and it’s astounding that I’ve never seen one episode of his.

RIP DJ EZ Rock

I think it’s high time that I start getting into “Orange is the New Black“.

The Frozen obsession continues…thank you to my wife & kids for my belated bday present

By the way…do you know what turned 20 years old yesterday?

This…

One of the best rap songs ever. I remember buying the “Above the Rim” soundtrack on cassette…and not enjoying the first 3 songs at all…and then, out of nowhere…boom…that 4th track. “Regulate“. RIP Nate Dogg.

AWESOME is as AWESOME does!

The "Shake It Off" star has earned $73.5 million from album sales, streaming and publishing revenue and her 1989 world tour - almost double the fortune amassed by country star Kenny Chesney, who is a distant second.
