Kurt’s Blog: Save Floppy!

I grew up in the Chicagoland area, so I never saw “The Floppy Show”, but I relate it to “Bozo the Clown”, which I watched everyday, so I totally understand the passion behind wanting to save the Floppy exhibit at State Historical Building.

This is Cal…he works in our building. He’s a fan…and this is AWESOME

SAVE FLOPPY!

I heard so many people angrily disagreeing with the decision, and I definitely side with them.

SAVE FLOPPY!

To replace it with a Ragbrai exhibit? C’mon…is it just going to be a shrine to the cheater Lance Armstrong? Hey look, there’s the cheater’s bike, and there’s a pair of his sunglasses. Then, throw in some vintage bikes?

SAVE FLOPPY!

Ragbrai is a great event, but I don’t think it shares such a warm place in people’s hearts like Floppy evidently does.

SAVE FLOPPY!

I was doing a little bit more research on the Floppy Show, and even though the news just broke the other day about the exhibit being moved, the Wikipedia page has already been updated. That shows passion.

The Internet’s New Obsession

I can’t seem to get through three celebrity tabloid pages without running into photos of Alec Baldwin’s daughter, Ireland, and what she’s up to. She’s swimming…she’s at graduations…she’s sitting. It’s riveting stuff?

What I Learned Yesterday

That if you take the kids to the Saylorville Dam when the water is pouring out…it will make them scared. I thought they’d think it’d be pretty neat…they eventually did, but wow, not at first.

You Deserved The Booing

60 year old man…running over two 10 year-olds at the Iowa Cubs game on Monday to grab a foul ball was despicable…and you deserved the booing you received.

GIVE…IT…TO…THE…KID!

AWESOME is as AWESOME does!
