Kurt’s Blog: Things I’m Thankful For
Kurt’s Blog: Things I’m Thankful For

Happy early Thanksgiving…and it’s time to give thanks…and here’s what I’m thankful for.

family

My wife & kids...

Of course…I love ‘em to death, and without them, my heart would have a void that could never be filled. I appreciate all the love…the laughs…the happiness…and even the nights where Dexter gets out of bed a few times just to ask me “Can we watch Sofia’s Floating Palace tomorrow?” I even like it when Priscilla yells at me when all she wants is mama, but is stuck with me. Thank you to my wife for constantly putting up with my ridiculousness. It takes a strong wife to deal with 4 months of fantasy football stress.

Okay…on to the nonsense…

I’m thankful for…

Pearl Jam – Always Pearl Jam. New album…incredible set lists…bootlegs soon-to-be-released.

Aaron Rodgers – It’s not so much this year…but I’m thanking him for everything prior to this season. How thankful I am to have a great QB…we never fully appreciated it until his injury.

Victor’s Hot Wings – Best wings in town…with apologies to Gerri’s on the East Side…it’s just too far away…I can nearly walk to Victor’s (but wouldn’t be able to walk back).

Monsters University – Yes, I’ve seen it around 15 times…but it still makes me laugh. It’s definitely Cissy’s favorite movie.

The Goldbergs – Funniest show on TV.

Malin Akerman in “The Trophy Wife” – Huzzah!

Backyard Adventures – If you have kids and don’t know about Backyard Adventures, then you’re missing out on a great afternoon of fun for the kids. Both my kids request a visit every week.

This Video:

47th Annual CMA Awards Red CarpetCarrie Underwood – Doing anything…heck, I’m going to watch “The Sound of Music” in 2 weeks, just because of Carrie Underwood….and actually, I’ve never even seen The Sound of Music, so this will be all new to me. No spoilers please.

Noodles & Company’s Wisconsin Cheesesteak Sandwich.

The Boston Red Sox – For making sure Cardinals fans didn’t have another ring on their finger. As a Cubs fan, I could not be more bitter, but I am appreciative of what the BoSox did.

The Octonauts – I know so much about the ocean now.

Jennifer Lawrence – You are delightful…and Catching Fire was AWESOME. (so much better than how I remembered the book).

This Interview between Comedian Pete Holmes & Lolo Jones

Breaking Bad – Thank you for not disappointing…every moment was so good.

My New Iphone – I’ve already forgotten what life was like before I had it.

Meeting Weird Al & Ed Sheeran – One was a dream come true…and the other made me a huge Ed Sheeran fan.

weird al edsheeran

Koop’s Arizona Heat Mustard – I put it on every sandwich.

Bacon – I put it on every sandwich.

P!nk in Des Moines & Nine Inch Nails in Kansas City – Two of the best shows ever.

My Mini-Van – Like my Iphone…I don’t remember life prior to minivan, and it’s only been 6 months.

That Giada’s finger injury won’t keep her from doing more Food Network shows – Whew, that was a close one.

HGTV’s Love it or List It

Any nostalgic photo gallery remembering the awesomely bad fashion fads of the 90s.

Pitbull & Ke$ha’s Timber…might be my favorite song of the year

Have a great Thanksgiving!

AWESOME is as AWESOME does!
