At just 20 years old, pianist Benjamin Grosvenor has already electrified the music world with his spell-binding performances. In 2011, The Daily Telegraph named him one of the “Top 10 Britons of the Year,” and he became Gramophone’s youngest ever double-award winner. He makes his Des Moines Symphony debut with Saint- Saëns’ exquisite G Minor Concerto, a glistening, energetic work with no “slow” movement. That, and Joseph Giunta concludes his 25th Anniversary Season with his favorite Brahms symphony.

Single tickets are $15-$55 and are available through Ticketmaster and the Civic Center Ticket Office.Student tickets are $7.50-$27.50 and are available through the Civic Center Ticket Office (221 Walnut Street, Des Moines; open 9a-5p Monday through Friday and two hours prior to performances).Student rush tickets, subject to availability, are $5 for junior high and high school students and $10 for all other students the day of the concert through the Civic Center Ticket Office.

Music, Movement and Sign Language Classes for Infants and Toddlers

Come join us for a fun six-week session of playing instruments, reading favorite stories, singing traditional songs and signing fun rhymes. Children will also work on their gross motor skills by balancing, crawling through tunnels, shaking a parachute and catching bubbles. We will learn the basic building blocks of music and around 100 American Sign Language signs useful in everyday life. New lessons are introduced every two weeks.

Many victims flee their abusive homes with not much more than the clothes on their back. The FreeStore helps them furnish their new homes.
