3rd Annual Monsters’ Ball Benefit:

Generations of Compassion Foundation (GCF) is a fully recognized 501©3 non-profit organization committed to helping individuals and families in need. GCF offers help in a variety of ways whether the need is financial or volunteer time. Examples of previous assistance include helping seniors move to assisted living by packing their belongings, cleaning their home for resale and providing transportation to appointments; helping a single mom by purchasing groceries when she was out of work; and holding a benefit to raise funds for medical bills for a young family without insurance and much more.

Last year, GCF raised over $7,000 during the Monsters Ball Benefit. All the proceeds have been donated to individuals and families in need of assistance. More information regarding the details of those helped can be viewed on our website, click here.

Tickets are free for kids under 2, $5 for kids 2-11, $10 for adults and $25 for families (2 adults and kids). There will be live music performed by Flipside from 6pm-9pm. There will also be door prizes, a silent auction, cash bar, a costume contest, catering and children’s’ activities.

Imagine hearing the 23rd Psalm, French poetry and Swingin’ Saints. Together. Think you’re dreaming? Wake up! You’re not dreaming! We’re not making this up! This is part of the program for the 10th Annual Harvest Concert. Over eighty singers and musicians, including the ensembles We Got Male and We Got Female, will be performing a variety of works from classical to country to humorous. The concerts will benefit the Des Moines Area Religious Council Food Pantry.

American Diabetes Association Zumbathon

Christmas Cookie Walk

The BEST Christmas Cookie Walk in the metro! Buy a tin and fill it from dozens and dozens (literally, hundreds and hundreds of dozens) of handmade cookies and candy. Mop up the broken ones in the Cookie Crumb Cafe (they must go somewhere). Treat Santa, friends, teachers, co-workers–or yourself! Door prizes, too! Doors open at 9:00 and close when the cookies run out (and they go FAST).

Central Iowa Tour de Cure

Tour de Cure is more than just a cycling event. A day full of fun and excitement where riders of all levels join forces in the fight to Stop Diabetes® and raise critical funds for diabetes research, education and advocacy in support of the American Diabetes Association.

Route options: 25, 50, 75 mile – routes to be announced January 2015.
Registration fee: $15
Minimum fundraising: $200 – all stays in the Iowa Chapter
