I love West End Salvage!
I love West End Salvage!

I have been a fan of West End Architectural Salvage since I first saw a booth of theirs at the Farmers Market years ago. I bought some earrings that were made out of typewriter keys. (one says Margin Release and the other says Shift)

I would always go the website and just look at the photos of things they had in the shop. Then   they had a booth at the Des Moines Home and Garden Show a few years ago and I got the chance to interview Don, the Owner. I just love the things they do!

Last summer at the All Star Summer Concert, I had a chance to talk to Don and tell him again, when I win the lottery I am having him do my whole house!

So in August my cousin from LA came to visit and we went to the store and spent like 2 hours just walking around and checking everything out. So being an uber fan, you know I was waiting for the show to debut on HGTV. You have probably seen the stories on the local news, or in the paper talking about the series. You might have had a clue what it would be like.

I was blown away. I loved the way they did B-roll on the city and made Des Moines really shine. The staff at West End was so engaging! And I am so jealous of the couples that had their rooms done!

Now I will tell you I submitted an application to have a room done last summer before they started filming. And I got an email to send a video of the space I want done. So I am working on that. I have to be a shoo in as I have the most hideous master bedroom in my attic that you can ever imagine. It is done all in wood work and looks like Paul Bunyon’s love shack. Seriously. Log cabin overkill. It is a design team’s dream room to start over from scratch.

Anyhow, HERE is where you can learn more about the show.

Congrats to the whole team! I will be watching!!
