I’m not ready for Monday
I’m not ready for Monday

How is this Monday? It seems like the weekend flew by too quickly and I have nothing to show for it!

My family helped a friend move on Saturday, so I feel like we sorta accomplished something. I made a big vat of chili so the entire house smelled wonderful when we got home. I got sucked into a few movies on Saturday night. I couldn’t help it! I ended up watching Under the Tuscan Sun again. I still love it.

Sunday I had no motivation. I was exhausted. I did sort through some of Rhi’s clothes and start making piles again of what is too small. I am going to have to stop feeding her as she is growing too much! My husband made his famous enchiladas for dinner, and then I settled in for the Oscars.

The Oscars are  my Superbowl. This is the night I wait for. But for the life of me I can’t figure out why exactly. Do we really need 2 hours of Red Carpet coverage, and then have the Oscars run an hour late? Of course there will be a lot of discussion on the job that Seth MacFarlane did. It wasn’t my cup of tea. I just don’t think he is funny. I did see on Twitter someone had posted that Tina Fey and Amy Poehler were high-fiving each other as they watched. Bring the ladies back. They rocked the Globes! Give them the Oscars next year!

I am so behind on movies. I haven’t seen one movie in the Best Picture category. I want to, but I just haven’t made it to a theater in a very long time. We usually wait until we can rent the movies and watch from home. So as per usual, the Oscars ran long and I stayed up way too late. Now I’m tired today.

Now the only thing that makes my Monday better is reading Mr. Allen’s blog. Train and Matt Nathanson are coming to the Iowa State Fair!!! Woot Woot!! I’m pumped about this show!

I adore everything that Train has ever done, and sang along to every song last summer at STAR 102.5’s All Star Summer Concert. And Matt Nathanson, well, he is a musical genius. This makes me happy. Very very happy.
