I’m ready for a break
I’m ready for a break

I’m so confused as to how it is Monday already! I really think this weekend went by way too fast and I’m sorta blindsided by work again. And I didn’t get nearly enough stuff done to boot!

Friday night was The World’s Toughest Rodeo at Wells Fargo Arena and my family went. We had a blast, but Rhi really looked the part. ¬†She wants to be a cowgirl when she grows up so put on her best cowgirl attire for the night. I did go down in the arena to welcome the crowd, and as I was down there Rhi kept shouting from our seats ‘Mom, I’m up here!’ My apologies to anyone who was sitting near her as I am told she was very excited to see me on the big screen.

I think everyone should go to at least one rodeo in their life. I grew up around rodeos in small town South Dakota so I have been to many. It is truly amazing to watch. I’m such a chicken there is no way you could get me on a bucking bronco. But props to those who can.

Saturday the plan was to work on my submission for the Home and Garden show exhibit. In a previous blog I told you that we had to pick out an item at Restore, and reuse it. So my project is working with a hanging lamp, that my husband is basically rewiring for me. We have taken it all apart (it was so 70’s) and now we are rebuilding it with a coffee theme. I hit up the DAV Thrift Store, Goodwill and the Salvation Army to get my ‘supplies’. I am not convinced this is going to be pretty. But time will tell on this one. We aren’t close to being finished.

Saturday night I went out with some coworkers and hit up Taki. Had a lot of fun and enjoyed some sushi. It’s all fun and games until that one person has too much to drink, and you take their keys away. Then they get mad and try to walk home when it is freezing out. So the party ended earlier than I was ready for it to. But it was still fun.

Sunday was one of those days I just couldn’t get my feet under me. I couldn’t get motivated to save my life! It took me all morning to finally get the energy up to run errands. I had to hit up Target, Beauty Brands, and Sam’s Club. I had to get some supplies to keep up my new eating plan. I needed to go to HyVee as well but there was no way I could add that to my list of things to do. I ran out of energy and hit that wall!

The Golden Globes were Sunday night and I sat down with the laptop to watch. I did a little work and watched at the same time. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler killed it! I thought it was a great show, but it did make me realize that I am completely out of the loop when it comes to movies. Get me to a theater asap!

Hope your weekend was a great one!
