I haven’t blogged in too long! So this is just a random catch up blog.
Over Christmas we went to see my family in South Dakota. We had a blast visiting the town I grew up in. Except things didn’t go as planned and we had to leave Des Moines much later than we thought. Rhi got sick earlier in the week, and the night before we were to leave I got the bug. I don’t know the last time I felt as sick as I did that night. And then of course the day we were supposed to leave my husband caught it. So we delayed our trip by several days.
Once we got to South Dakota we were all good! There is just something about going home, you know? I wanted to relax and just chill out. So that is exactly what we did. Of course there is that one restaurant you have to go to while visiting, and this trip was no different. I crave Beef Tips from this local bar and grill called The Stadium in Spearfish. These breaded and fried beef tips, marinated in some magical sauce, then dipped in ranch dressing, are pure heaven.
While in South Dakota, my Dad brought up the fact that my Pontiac Aztek was getting old and a lot of miles on it. He was hinting that I should look at getting a new vehicle. When you grow up in a small town, everyone knows you and your family. And my Dad called the people that he always buys his vehicles from and decided to go take a look at what was on the lot. Before I had a chance to blink, I was in a 2010 Chevy Traverse. I never really got to say goodbye to my bright orange Aztek! I still miss her and get misty eyed every time I pass an Aztek on the road. But I do like my new vehicle. It’ just a little bigger than I’m used to!
The weekend before we left for South Dakota, I went to East Village Spa for a little relaxation. I wanted a massage to get rid of the stress of the holidays. If you have never been there, you really need to check them out HERE. I got the knots out of my back and had the best massage imaginable. Heaven. And I can’t wait to go back! I’m pretty sure I’m getting something from my hubby for Valentines Day or my birthday so I can go back!
Now I’m working on some minor home projects. Decluttering is my goal. When it comes to the house, I’m addicted to this magazine:
I finally had to get myself a subscription to this magazine. I love it! And it has a ton of DIY projects that I’m geared up for!
Next up on my plate is preparing myself for my baby girl’s birthday. She will be 6 on February 7th, and it has flown by!
