I’ve enjoyed several amazing dishes at BOS over the last few weeks. Chef John Andres was a contestant with Battledish Des Moines and has ‘wowed’ me!

BOS is doing something very cool tonight (Thursday, October 10th) and tomorrow night (Friday, October 11th) that I want you to be aware of. Twice annually BOS hosts fundraising dinners for the Central Campus culinary students’ benefit.

A quick rundown on the program:  The Des Moines Public Schools’ Central Campus has a Restaurant Management and Culinary Arts program for high school students to attend and earn credit towards DMACC’s culinary program while still in high school.  Unfortunately, the program is not as well-funded as it should be, and therefore the folks at  BOS and the Renaissance Des Moines Savery Hotel host fundraising dinners in order for the students to travel and participate in events and competitions on the state and national level annually.

What a great event! And during it, the high school students work in the kitchen and shadow the  wait staff, and BOS donates back 100% of the profits to the students’ program!

The cost is $29 per person and reservations are recommended. I’m looking at this menu, and my mouth is watering! Let’s get the word out that this is happening tonight and tomorrow at BOS! Check out the menu below!
