So I met Jon Bon Jovi…

So I met Jon Bon Jovi…

I admit, I’m jaded. 20 years in radio has softened me on meeting musicians and celebrities. In most cases, I don’t get nervous or even excited. I’ve come to grips that they’re people just like you and me, they just have really cool jobs.

There was something different though about meeting Jon Bon Jovi. Jon is far and away the biggest musician I’ve ever met. The man has sold over 135 million albums. This is the biggest music celebrity I’ve ever met. As you could imagine, I was pretty nervous.

Luckily, he was a really nice, down to earth guy. Very easy to talk to and very friendly. We spent around 10 minutes in his dressing room prior to the show at Wells Fargo Arena. We talked about a variety of topics and I left with an even better impression of him than I already had. My one regret was that I had my copy of “Slippery When Wet” in my back pocket and I was too shy to ask him to sign it. GAHH! WHY?? He would have done it with a smile, I’m certain.

Oh well, there’s always next time. (I hope!)
