The Band You Don’t Know, But Should
The Band You Don’t Know, But Should

Today I met a new band you NEED to hear about: The Dunwells.

There’s a ton of perks that come from working at STAR 102.5. High on the list, meeting bands you’ve likely never heard of before, and watching them do their thing. Record companies love to send their bands on “promo tours.” Random band gets in a van and travels the country with donuts, playing for anyone who’ll listen at radio stations across the country.

Most are very awkward. Imagine sitting five feet from total strangers while they sing their hearts out in a conference room. Tough for them too.

Now, I’ve been at STAR for 18 years. I’ve seen a ton of bands this way, but can easily say I’ve never met a band as talented as The Dunwells. They played three songs in about 20 minutes, first thing this morning…and blew the socks off the place. All 15 of us erupted into thunderous applause after each and every song. They were spot on – at 9am in the morning. What band do you know that can harmonize and sound like they should be on a stage at Wells Fargo Arena – at 9am?! Simply amazing. Here’s their new song – called “I Could Be A King.” Check it out; let me know what you think.
