Browns closer to stadium makeover

BROWNS MAKEOVER: This architect's rendering provided by the Cleveland Browns shows part of a proposed renovation of FirstEnergy Stadium Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013, in Cleveland. The two-year modernization project, proposed for completion during the next two off-seasons, would include two new video boards nearly triple the size of the boards currently in each end zone and increasing the lower bowl’s seating capacity while improving sight-lines. CLEVELAND (AP) — The Browns and the city of Cleveland reached a tentative agreement to fund a two-year, $120 million makeover of FirstEnergy Stadium.

The deal calls for the team to finance the entire cost for the renovation while recouping $42 million from the city.

The deal must be approved by Cleveland’s City Council.
