Linkin Park have designed a limited edition pair of boots to raise funds for the victims of Hurricane Sandy.

The “In the End” hitmakers teamed up with bosses at footwear company Sebago to create the $250 black utilitarian boot.

A portion of the proceeds will go towards their Music For Relief charity’s Hurricane Sandy fund, to assist U.S. residents re-building their lives following the devastating storm.

Singer Mike Shinoda tells TheSource.com, “People who buy the shoe, not only will they be getting a great piece of footwear, but they also will be helping out some people in need.”

Speaking about the design process, bandmate Joe Hahn adds, “We had about five different ideas that we fleshed out and this one is the best. We wanted to take a simple utilitarian approach to what someone that travels with the group would wear, meaning our road crew. One pair of shoes that they can wear the rest of their lives. They can trek through the mud or any kind of terrain and then they can go out at night and still look nice.”

Thousands of U.S. residents were left homeless or without electricity when the superstorm battered America’s East Coast in October, and at least 130 were killed in the disaster.
