Bethanie Johnson
Bethanie’s life has been chaotic to say the very least. When Bethanie was born she was really irritable. Her mother Melissa took her to a variety of doctors but was told that Bethanie was suffering from either a cold virus or something else similar. Instinctually, Melissa knew it was something bigger and eventually took her to the ER to get blood work done. The following day, when the results came back, her blood counts were off and she was diagnosed with leukemia.
Currently, Bethanie comes to the University of Iowa Children’s Hospital on a regular basis for chemotherapy treatments. Her treatments will continue as long as it takes for the leukemia is gone.
