Great Day for Baseball!

Great Day for Baseball!

What a great day for some Iowa Cubs baseball! With temps in the 60s, I decided to drop by Principal Park for a quick lunch. What fun!

I moved to Des Moines from San Diego in the summer of 1993 to start college at Drake University. I didn’t know a soul before I moving here, and wondered how life could possibly exist without the beach. Ha! Part of growing up was my Dad taking us to San Diego Padres games. We always had so much fun! Now that I have two girls of my own, we take in a game any chance we get.

I woke up today with no plans over lunch and decided to head down before the first pitch. The plan: Some baseball, a quick lunch, and a little sun (after all, I need a bit of color of that long Iowa winter). The weather was on the cool side, but once in the park – it was perfect. The smell of hot dogs and popcorn grabs you as soon as you pass through the gate. So, I had to get my usual: Hot Dog, nachos with jalapenos and a diet coke (ironic, I know). By the way, I’d never seen red jalapenos before! Quite tasty.

I love walking around the park over lunch. Young and old…shorts and suits – all welcome for a little fun in the sun.
