Join us for a celebration of music from the Americas and Spain at 7 p.m., Friday, December 13, 2013 at Faith Lutheran Church, 10395 University Avenue, Clive, Iowa.

Our program will feature a variety of works and performers, with the centerpiece being the “Carols and Lullabies-Christmas from the Southwest” by 20th Century composer Conrad Susa. This work is scored for a chorus, harp, guitar and marimba. You’ll also hear the Jubilate Ringers, the resident hand bell choir of Faith Lutheran Church. Our performers include the 52-member Chancel Choir of Faith Lutheran Church along with local professional musicians.

To get to Faith Lutheran Church, located in the western part of the Des Moines area, take Interstate-235 to the Valley West Drive exit. Go north on Valley West Drive to University Avenue and then turn west (left). Continue on University Avenue beyond the K-Mart store. Faith Lutheran Church is on the north side of University Avenue by the Clive water tower.

This program is one of several events in the 2013-2014 Soli Deo Musica series. Other events include an appearance by Craig Cramer, professor of organ and artist in residence at the University of Notre Dame in Indiana this coming February and a performance of Christ Lag in Todes Banden, BWV 4 by Johann Sebastian Bach in April.
