The Estonian National Symphony Orchestra had its origins as a small radio orchestra in 1926. It has since grown to 100 musicians averaging more than 60 concerts each year and has become Estonia’s representative orchestra. ENSO has powerfully increased its international scope in the last few years and has won both a Grammy and BBC Music Magazine Award with their Baroque period to premiere performances for composers from around the world and especially celebrated Estonians. The program will feature the powerful and poetic playing of Armenian cellist Narek Hakhnazaryan and is scheduled to include works by Estonian composers, such as VELJO TORMIS’s Overture No.2 , DVOŘÁK’s Cello Concerto in B minor, Op.104 and SIBELIUS’s Symphony No.5 in E-flat major, Op.82.
