Global Greens Farmers Market features fruits and vegetables grown by displaced farmers who have resettled in Iowa. This market is the latest development in LSI’s (Lutheran Services in Iowa) Global Greens program, which connects individuals with refugee status to community gardens and provides intensive training for those who seek to become small business farmers. Most of the farmers participating originally hail from Burma (Myanmar), Bhutan and Burundi.
