UScellular will attempt to break a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title for the world’s longest temporary mini golf hole. The company will host a free event from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 21 at Cowles Commons for the public to witness the record-breaking moment, play the hole and take part in other free family-friendly activities that include face painting, a giant yard puzzle, snow cones and a mural painting.
An adjudicator from Guinness World Records will be on site to take official measurements and certify the new world record being set in Des Moines.
As part of its Built for US platform, UScellular has provided tips and resources to help people have a better relationship with their technology. Earlier this year, the company created a “Board of Connectors,” a group comprised of youth from Boys & Girls Clubs and children of UScellular associates, to inspire more ways for families to create better digital habits. They shared a desire to make favorite places in their communities even better by getting to play larger-than-life games in open spaces, which allows them to have fun while spending less time on their screens. This helped UScellular create this unique opportunity for Des Moines residents.
