The World Cup has started! Good-bye summer sunshine! Even Season 2 of Orange is the New Black has been put on hold. I’m World Cup obsessed…and here’s why…
1 – Fans of countries have traveled over 1000 miles to Brazil…for the chance to maybe…MAYBE…go absolutely crazy one time during a 90 minute match…and when that one goal is scored…bedlam ensues.
2 – The US plays all sorts of good teams in the first round. The US may not advance, but it won’t be due to inferior competition. Germany, Portugal…and even Ghana.
3 – Sports is on at 11 in the morning. Woot woot!
4 – Half the stadiums in Brazil aren’t quite finished yet…which means terrible conditions, which means tempers will flare…which means…unpredictability.
5 – The return of the GOoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooaaaaaaaaaal guy. Love of that guy.
6 – Cristiano Ronaldo. He leads a good life.
7 – The amount of pressure these players are under….they are giving 100% effort. It’s incredible.
8 – The idea that after 20+ years, this might be the year that I understand the Offsides rule…probably not though.
9 – Crazy haircuts…and incredible tattoo designs.
10 – Nothing is more entertaining than watching players flop.
BONUS REASON!
Tomorrow at 5pm….England battles Italy…and it will be AWESOME. Two of the most passionate fan bases…playing in a half-finished stadium (they are spray painting the unfinished turf green to make it look nice)….in the middle of the Amazon Rain Forest. Temps are supposed to be upwards of 90…with oppressive humidity…and Italian & English soccer fans. Tempers will flare…players will be cranky…holy cow, I can’t wait.
Well, this was unexpected…a celebrity crush on Miranda Lambert. I always thought she was cute, but then the Rolling Stone magazine arrived.
A Carrie Underwood/Miranda Lambert Tour would NOT be a bad thing.
After being frustrated with the app “Wrong Way” for 5 days…it has been deleted from my phone. It’s fun, free, and you will yell at yourself when you mess up.
The 22 Jump Street trailers look hilarious…but our revered RottenTomatoes.com’s Grae Drake wasn’t too impressed with it. I could definitely see that…the movie definitely seems to be making fun of itself, but sometimes too much of that could be a bad thing. Regardless,…I will go see it.

The big movie in our household will be “How To Train Your Dragon 2“. Our 3 year-old loves the first movie (which he only saw for the first time this past Monday…but has seen it 3 times since)…he’s ready for this movie.
