Hi…Kurt here.
If you told 12-year-old me that one day, I would get to live my dream job of being on the radio for 24 years…he would be as happy as I am today. I’m so thankful for the past 20+ years to work with such incredible people…and for such a great audience.
Today, I announced that I’m leaving STAR102.5… and radio… to follow a different career path.
I can’t tell you how appreciative I am to all of you who have listened over the years…who I’ve had the honor of meeting at events… and for letting me be part of your mornings. It’s truly an honor.
So many times, you hear of radio personalities having to switch markets multiple times in their career.. .and I’m so blessed that I had the opportunity to work with two incredible shows… in the same city.
Tawinee…it has been a pleasure to become friends with you…and I know you have nerves about all this…but you will do great things. Be you…and everything else falls in line.
Ken, not only are you truly one of bestest of my friends, and you have done so much for me professionally and personally, I can’t thank you enough. Not hanging out in the mornings will be one of the strangest feelings…and I will miss it incredibly. Thank you for the taking chance on me way back when.
Thank you to the Des Moines Media Group & Saga Communications for taking that chance too….and for all the opportunities that I got to enjoy. I’m extremely thankful I got to work for such a great company.
And to you…the listeners….thank you x10000000000. Thank you for sharing in the laughs, the ups, the downs, the everything. I love you all. Growing up, I dreamt of one day getting a little touch of fame…and you gave me that over and over, and I loved every minute. Thank you.
So the question now is…why? Why leave? It’s just time. It’s an unsatisfactory answer perhaps, but it’s the reason. From the early, early hours…it just was beginning to wear me down, and it was time for a change for myself. It’s time…but I’ve loved the time I’ve had here.
Thank you Central Iowa…I love you.
