Kurt’s Blog: Am I Now Immune to Red Bull?

The Billboard Music Awards

What a train-wreck of a show…obviously, we didn’t catch the first half the show due to the weather coverage (hope everyone’s trees survived)…but from what we saw, it was just a disaster.

The images of Nicki Minaj giving Lil’ Wayne a lapdance at the end is still burned in my brain…and not in a good way. Seriously, how does that make it past the censors? Not only was it nearly obscene, but it was terrible.

I didn’t catch this last night, but Miguel’s leg drop on some unsuspecting fans was astounding. I give him credit for making it succesful over the other 90% of the fans, but watch out for those last two!

Then, there was the Biebs. Alright, maybe the hate has gone a bit too far on him, but then again, he keeps bringing it on himself. He won the Milestone (?) award last night, and as he goes up to accept the award, he’s wearing some black leather pants, but again, somehow, even with leather pants, he’s got that weird “Diaper-Butt” thing going on with the saggy pants. Dude, what is that? There is no wrong way to sag your pants, but I think you’ve found the closest way to being wrong. It makes you look ridiculous.

Then to get up there and whine about how you need to be taken seriously? You intended it to be a statement (or something), but it only made you look even closer to the ever-looming breakdown.

Am I Now to Immune to Red Bull?
Have a I had too much? What’s going on here? Red Bull seems to have no effect on me anymore…and instead, I find myself drinking copious amounts of it for one main reason…it tastes so good.

I had 4 in about 3 hours on Saturday….just because I was thirsty. That, my friends, is called an addiction. (oh, and I still felt tired!)

My Wife & I No Longer Have Control of Our TV

The reasons? Oh, two little kids who love “Special Agent Oso”. This is definitely the first show that both our son & daughter love watching. He loves Handy Manny, but she’s just ho-hum on it (once the song is done, she’s done)…but Special Agent Oso? Oh, they’re watching it together, laughing…thank you strange, little, yellow bear.

Dexter Season 8…

Now, THIS is the trailer we were waiting for!

Jack Reacher

On the way to Cozumel, I read Lee Child’s “One Shot”…a Jack Reacher novel, and the novel that the movie with Tom Cruise was based on.

I thought the book was an excellent read…but the movie, holy cow, what a pile of garbage. Tom Cruise & the actress, I think her name is Rosemund Pike, were awful together. They’re acting…if you could call it that…was just so bland & boring.

Also, in the book, there’s a mystery…in the movie? Oh, that mystery is already kaibashed about 3 minutes into it. Good bye suspense element.

I think I fell asleep at some point, I know my wife did…and probably about 15 minutes before the end of the movie, I just said enough was enough, and turned it off.

Easily one of the worst book-to-movie adaptations I have ever suffered through.

AWESOME is as AWESOME does!
