Kurt’s Blog: Do You Know What Sucks? Flagpoles. Yep, Flagpoles

Passenger

I need to do more research on Star Artist Passenger…his song “Let Her Go” is so crazy good…dare, I say…AWESOME. It’s definitely my favorite song of the moment.

My wife would like to throw in there that her favorite song of the moment is One Republic’s “Counting Stars”.

Even If You Don’t Like Hockey…

Check out the Chicago Blackhawks’ Patrick Kane’s insane stick-handling abilities. It’s absolutely crazy.

How did his skates not hit?

What’s the Deal With Flagpoles?

Yep, I ask that question Seinfeld style….but seriously, what’s the deal with flagpoles? I bought a new Drake flag to fly proudly outside, but I swear, no flag matches any flagpole. How am I supposed to slide the flag onto the poll when the both ends of the seams have a clip hole sewn in? Then, a follow-up to that question, how come the flagpole doesn’t have a clip on the bottom? It just doesn’t make any sense….and it’s incredible aggravating.

Note: The flag looks very nice…once I got it figured out…after a trip to both Home Depot & Lowes.

I swear it’s some sort of conspiracy to get us to forever buy flagpoles. Every flagpole I’ve bought says “Fits any flag”…yet, everytime I get a new flag, I seem to have to breakout a screwdriver, a drill, and scissors. It’s ridiculous. Maybe I just don’t know what I’m doing (that’s entirely possible).

Dexter

I’m really getting concerned about the Dexter finale this Sunday…I’m not confident at all that I’m going to like this ending….and I think my wife & I are going to get into an argument about it after the show.

I think she’s wanting the happy ending…where Hannah & Dexter head off to Argentina…not me though, I want death…and not just Deb’s death. Look at what they’re doing with Breaking Bad…main characters, all in some sort of peril…yet in Dexter, all the other characters that I love so much (Batista, Vince), they’re fine…they might not even be in the final episode to be honest.

Oh jeez, I just realized how much time and effort they’re going to put into Deb dying while professing her love for Quinn. Arrgggh.

AWESOME is as AWESOME does!

‘Scary Movie’ tops box office, slaying ‘Masters of the Universe’ and adding to low-budget streak

The summer box office is booming — but not because of the usual suspects. After three weeks of indie horror dominance at the box office, the slasher spoof "Scary Movie" topped ticket sales with $55 million over the weekend, according to studio estimates Sunday, easily besting the far-from-mighty "Masters of the Universe."

Carolina trails Vegas in the Stanley Cup Final and has a big decision to make for Game 4

A sequence of events in a Stanley Cup Final that has gotten crazier by the minute has put the Carolina Hurricanes at a crossroads. They blew a two-goal lead and lost Game 1, erased a two-goal deficit and won Game 2, and rallied from down four goals in Game 3, only to lose in double overtime on a fluky bounce.
