Kurt’s Blog: Es Ist Oktoberfest Zeit!

(That photo is from 1998… the Hofbrau Haus in Munich…still wearing Pearl Jam shirts)

From first grade through senior year of high school…I took German classes. Now, after 12 years of studying, you’d think I’d be pretty good at it….Das ist night richtig. (that’s not correct…or maybe that’s not right).

I thought it’d payoff when I visited Frankfurt…and Munich…but they all had a great time wanting to speak English to me….but maybe this Saturday, it will finally pay off!?

This Saturday…it’s Adventureland Oktoberfest!!

It’s going to be a beautiful day…come on out…have a great day. It starts at 11…and goes ’til 10! Now that’s a full, fun day of Oktoberfest fun.

Tickets are only $15 (you’re good to go if you have your season pass)…and that gets you on all the rides going that day (including The Monster)…that ticket gets you your first beer too…a quite tasty Sam Adam’s Oktoberfest brew….and then from then on out, get $12 souvenir mug…and enjoy $5 refills.

I’ll be out there all day…hosting many of the festivities…I mean…they got me an outfit…I repeat, I have an outfit! It doesn’t get better than that.okt2

Speaking of festivities….Damon Dotson, The Pork Tornados…the Nadas!…and the Spazmatics. It’s going to be awesome.

Contests…fireworks…food trucks…specialty food stands…70…I repeat…70!!! Beers on tap.

Grab your lederhosen…or don’t…come as you are, that’s fine too…but get ready to have fun this Saturday at Adventureland Oktoberfest!
