Kurt’s Blog: North, New Britney, & Most Disappointing Album Ever?

(the above photo is of my son doing his “jellyfish jiggle”)

North

North West.

There are no words.

North West is what a male porn star comes up with when all the good names are taken.

(Note: Yes, I know…parents are allowed to name their kids whatever they want…but this is Kanye & Kim…so I will absolutely call them ridiculous, and their name choice is ridiculous.

A T-Shirt That Should Still Be On Shelves

So Abercrombie & Fitch had a shirt that was poking fun at Taylor Swift.

Across the front it read “#moreboyfriends than t.s.”

I think that’s funny…perhaps not a good message though. The Taylor Swift fan club (The Swifties) got up in arms about it and made A&F remove the shirt.

Do you think the shirt is offensive…or funny?

I side with funny. To be honest, I wouldn’t even have made the connection that T.S = Taylor Swift. I would have thought, since it was A&F, it was some weird initials that I’m too old to understand.

New Britney Spears, y’all!

What do you think? I know what my wife thinks…it’s AWESOME y’all. She’s still such a bigtime Britney fan.

Monsters University

I really liked Monsters, Inc (even as a grown-up)…and I tried showing Dexter it about a month ago. I thought he liked it, but no, not yet…he’s fine with Mike & Sully, but the other peripheral monsters sort of scare him.

Monsters U. looks excellent.

 Most Disappointing Album Ever?

Yesterday, my Ipod was on shuffle…and “Numb” by U2 came on…a song that I don’t really like, but a song that I don’t really dislike either. This got me thinking to that whole album by U2…called “Zooropa”.

I remember being so excited for this album. “Achtung Baby” was such a great album, which had followed “Joshua Tree”…and I remember heading straight to Coconuts (remember Coconuts) to buy the album that morning of its release.

Then…I listened to it….my friends listened to it…and we all had the same reaction. What is this? This is terrible.

To this day, I will argue that U2’s Zooropa is the My Most Disappointing Album of All-Time. “Lemon” ,”Zooropa”…ugh. I just saw that it won the Grammy in 1993 for Best Alternative Album. I would strongly disagree.

What was the most disappointing album you’ve ever bought?

Eating Good

This week, my wife and I have been able to do lunch twice…with very pleasing results.

Monterrey on Monday was excellent. I hadn’t had their steak fajita burrito before, but it has instantly become one of my favorite Mexican meals…ever.

Then on Wednesday, Jennifer & I hit up our favorite spot, Americana. So good…I went with my usual Truffled Mac & Cheese (but opted for the steak this time instead of shrimp, and was extremely happy to welcome change)….but my wife got their Pulled Pork Sandwich, which was mouth-melting. Truly incredible stuff. My wife is ditching me tonight to back to Americana with her friend…perhaps if I say nice things she will bring something back for me.

Dear Jennifer,

You are pretty.

Sincerely,
Kurt (please bring back food for me)

Cool Show Alert

From the comedy troupe, Broken Lizard (Super Troopers, Beerfest, and the completely under-rated Club Dread), Steve Lemme & Kevin Heffernan are at Woolys tomorrow night. Those dudes are hilarious.

This Is Just Wrong

The “Kidz Bop” version of Macklemore’s “Thrift Shop”. Proceed at your own risk.

AWESOME is as AWESOME does!
