Kurt’s Blog: From Happiness To Depression

(the above photo is the family with my mom & dad (nana & papa))

This is how my day unfolded yesterday…

(I would right “the highest of highs to the lowest of lows”…but I think the Bachelor/Bachelorette has trademarked that cliche).

I went to Target…and saw the new shopping carts (I should have snapped a pic, but for the first time ever, I forgot my phone)…and was completely obsessed with the carts’ new greatness. (From the comments on the Ken & Colleen FB page, I see I’m not alone in my appreciation).

Supreme happiness. (over a shopping cart? I know, ridiculous).

Then, I got the text alert I had been waiting for…well…for about 3 years.

PEARL JAM ANNOUNCES NORTH AMERICAN TOUR DATES!

I immediately click.

I scroll through the dates…

…and complete sadness occurs.

Nothing in the Midwest…nothing. Oklahoma City is the closest that Pearl Jam is coming. I’m depressed even typing this this morning. What a bummer.

Here I am, trying my best not to be depressed that I won’t be at the Pearl Jam Wrigley Field show next Friday night…with my only rope of hope I’m clinging to is the idea that Pearl Jam will be doing a tour this fall, and I will be able to go to a few shows…

…then they announce their dates, and there’s nothing remotely close. It just rubs in the Wrigley Field disappointment even more.

I need a cupcake.

A cupcake…and a gallon of Bob Chinn’s Mai Tai. Stat.

On the Plus SideStacy Kiebler

Stacy Keibler is single again.

(I suppose that’s good news for everyone….for the ladies, George Clooney is single again).

October 12th!

Mark your calendars for October 12th..it’ll be the first home game for the new Iowa Wild at the Wells Fargo Arena! Mmm…hockey.

The Biebs

It’s always good to find a silver lining, right? The silver lining of Bieber showing up wayyyyyyyyy late to his concert Sunday night? We can mercilessly make fun of him. Excellent. Seriously, dude, show up for your show on time.

I waited 2+ hours for Guns N’ Roses…and left just as they were finally taking the stage…so I know the feeling of being there and just being stuck waiting. It sucks. It absolutely sucks…and do you know what? I want nothing to do with G’n’R anymore.

Guess What We’re Into at Home Right Now?

Yep…Monsters Inc. & University

Thanks Son

Sunday night, I was putting Dexter to bed, and Dexter looked at me and said “Daddy, don’t go to work tomorrow”. I replied back with “I have to go to work, I’ll make more money”. He shot back “I have money in my wallet, daddy”. Too cute.

Oh, I did go check his wallet…it wasn’t enough…but surprisingly more than I thought he would have.

Just because people will ask…no, I did NOT take his money.

Fantastic

Will Ferrell playing Harry Caray + the Lumineers

‘Scary Movie’ tops box office, slaying ‘Masters of the Universe’ and adding to low-budget streak

The summer box office is booming — but not because of the usual suspects. After three weeks of indie horror dominance at the box office, the slasher spoof "Scary Movie" topped ticket sales with $55 million over the weekend, according to studio estimates Sunday, easily besting the far-from-mighty "Masters of the Universe."

Carolina trails Vegas in the Stanley Cup Final and has a big decision to make for Game 4

A sequence of events in a Stanley Cup Final that has gotten crazier by the minute has put the Carolina Hurricanes at a crossroads. They blew a two-goal lead and lost Game 1, erased a two-goal deficit and won Game 2, and rallied from down four goals in Game 3, only to lose in double overtime on a fluky bounce.
