Are you kidding me? I could win $2000 for what I used (okay, not used…still do) to do in my mirror for free? I was everyone….Eddie Vedder…LL Cool J…NWA…Coldplay…my mom bought me a bass when I was in high school because I wanted to “start a band”…never started a band, but did have a cool bass guitar to lip sync with. There’s a video of me lip syncing to Rancid’s “Roots Radical”…but it has not seen the light of day…and nor should it.
I digress….yes, you could win $2000 for lip syncing. You could lip sync a Britney Spears song, and that would be totally surreal. My wife will yell at me for that joke…so let’s go with “You could lip sync a Milli Vanilli song, and world’s would collide.”
I could never win a karaoke contest…I have the showmanship…but not the voice. Take away the whole singing part, and ta-dah…winner winner chicken dinner.
What? Star 102.5 is partnering up with Prairie Meadows on this? I’m ineligible to win? Colleen and I are hosting this each Wednesday night? Okay…that’ll do 🙂

If I were to perform…and there’s still a good chance I’ll break it out on Wednesday night…these would be my choices….
Oh, before I do that…here are my tips…
- Pick a song people know
- Pick a song that’s fun for you to do
- Pick a song that has a silly/nostalgic factor
- Don’t pick Adele’s Hello….unless you have a crazy dance to accompany this.
- Your goal is to entertain…entertain.
- Don’t do a rap song that’s too fast, you’ll stumble.
- Stretch before you do any dance moves.
