Kurt’s Blog: I Know What’s Wrong With The Walking Dead

(NOTE: SPOILERS FROM LAST NIGHT)

So, I’m watching The Walking Dead last night….and I, admit, I’m sour on the show right now. I thought the first episode of the season last week was ridiculous….and not in that fun way.

So last night…I’m watching…and I admit (I’m admitting a lot this morning) I have no idea what Rick and the Gang are up to. We’re looking for the Saviours, right…got it…but we’re all over the place right now….and Negan has vanished, of course.

I’m watching them last night shoot up a bunch of Saviours, who I have no idea who they are…and besides the 3-4 folks from Alexandria that have been featured before, I don’t know the other 80% of the folks shooting on “our side”. So, now I have people I don’t know shooting up people I don’t know.

No suspense.

Then, I’m watching Morgan bust open doors…and shooting people…and then what????!?!?!? Morgan is shot…he’s down!! NOOOOOOOO!!! Oh please. We went to commercial…I got up to get some more Halloween candy…and sat back down….he’s fine. We all know he’s fine.

NO SUSPENSE.

Do they think we the fans really think that’s how Morgan is going out? That was ridiculous.

Oh no…Aaron is shot…I’m sure he’ll pull through…and if he doesn’t…well, it’s just another minor character in peril. Snooze.

Everyone could see that saviour turning the tables on Jesus….no suspense….and what…Jesus or Tara getting shot? Yeah, that’s not happening. There wasn’t one second where I thought “Oh no, they’re in trouble now”.

This show lacks any semblance of suspense…and has just become very bland….oh, and too many “dream” sequences. We wasted a good 90 seconds at the beginning and end of the show with weird dissolves of our favorite’s faces. So weird.

I should have kept bingeing Stranger Things 2 last night. Darn it.

Walking Dead…get…it…together.
