Maroon 5’s unveiled the cover art for their new album earlier this week…and the tracklist for V. The only song I’ve heard from “V” is “Maps”…which is a terrific song.
So, the tracklist came out yesterday, and I clicked on an article…and there were 1,000+ comments already from Maroon 5 fans, who were talking about which song will be the best song on the album…and which song is already their favorite (even though they admitted that they hadn’t heard any of the new tracks).
I thought, hey…I could do that.
So, without any know how…just knowing what I think I know….I will try and predict the way the new Maroon 5 album will sound.
V Tracklist:
“Maps” – We all have heard this song, so no prediction needed.
“Animals” – Animals will be a faster paced song…my prediction is that it will be about the first time Adam Levine and his now wife got it on. “We went at it like animals”…something like that.
“It Was Always You” – This will be a slower song…something like “She Will Be Loved”. It will be a testament of Adam finding his one, true love. (not counting Adam himself…slam…just kidding, but we all can agree he has an ego…we’ve seen The Voice).
“Unkiss Me” – This will be a slow ballad recounting the torrid love affair of Adam & Blake Shelton…okay, probably not.
“Sugar” – Your kisses are like sugar? Maybe this might be a lyric. Booger rhymes with sugar…that’d be AWESOME if the song had a Booger/Sugar rhyme.
“Leaving California” – This will be a sentimental look back at Maroon 5’s trek to success. Perhaps an ode to the first time they struck it big and left playing the small gigs in California behind.
“In Your Pocket” – I want to think that this will be a sentimental, upbeat song…but now, I’m thinking it’ll be about someone being “whipped” in a relationship…and it will contain the F-Bomb. One Maroon 5 song per album always seems to have an F-Bomb drop…this is the song where it’ll happen.
“New Love” – This will be about Adam dumping Blake…and finding love with Usher. A new love. Or, it’s about Courtney Love getting a makeover…it’s a new “Love”.
“Coming Back For You” – This will be about the time that Carson Daly forgot to pick Adam up from the airport…and had to go back to get him.
“Feelings” – This will be a cover song of this…

“My Heart is Open” featuring Gwen Stefani – This will be a fantastic song…it’ll be like Moby & Swen’s “Southside”…only 1000 times better….and with 500% less Moby.
All of this could be entirely wrong…is entirely wrong…might be 1% correct?
V comes out September 2nd…we’ll see just how absolutely wrong I was.
