Kurt’s Blog: I Thank You For Validation

To the dozen or so listeners that came up to me over the course of 3 hours while I was around the Fair on Saturday night…I say, thank you.

My mom & dad were in town this weekend, and joined us at the Fair, and what those listeners did was…validation.

My parents could not be more supportive of what I do…and always have been. However, I think my dad is still wondering what all the money went for at Drake, ha ha.

When the question was asked during orientation “Who is interested in the journalism school?”…and my hand shot up…my dad’s face went ghost-white. No business school? Nope…no actuary (which I’m not even sure what they are) in my future.

However, my parents witnessed you approaching me to tell me that “they were trying to get a photo of them with me in the background”…or even better…in line at the Giant Slide, and one nice woman walked by and said “You’re the guy from the radio”, and kept walking. It was fun…it was funny…and most importantly, my dad heard it.

Validation. Where is Cajun Man when I need him…val-i-day-shon.

Even my daughter is impressed.

Seriously…the van. I get a pic sent to me about 10 times a Fair with my idiot friends posing in front of it…and doing such lewd things to it that they can’t be shown here.

Validation!

AWESOME is as AWESOME does!
