Kurt’s Blog: I’m All for the Lady Ghostbusters

Somewhere Janine (Annie Potts) from the original Ghostbusters is standing up and yelling “We got one!”  (It’d be a nice little nostalgic thing to have a Janine cameo).

So…after what seems like years of rumors and intrigue…there seems to be more clarity as to what the Ghostbusters re-boot will be…and it looks AWESOME.

4 incredibly funny ladies…Kristin Wiig & Melissa McCarthy are two of the best actors out there right now…and Kate McKinnon & Leslie Jones are guaranteed laughs on SNL.

Add in Slimer…they have to add Slimer, right?…and it’ll be great.

Here’s my question…what’s this going to be rated? Both my kids enjoy the 90s cartoon version of the Ghostbusters (“The Real Ghostbusters”)…but there’s no way I’ll show them the original movie yet. How do you explain the Dan Aykroyd/ghost bed scene? I’m not ready for that talk yet. On the other hand, you can’t keep these 4 great actresses

I say we lady this thing up…an all female version of Predator! Yes….starring…Angelina Jolie, Jessica Alba, Scarlett Johannsen, and Emma Stone. Who wouldn’t want to hear Angelina Jolie yelling “Get to da choppa!”?

July 22, 2016…set the date!

By the way, Ernie Hudson (Winston) will be in Des Moines for Comic Con in June…photo op…bought.

AWESOME is as AWESOME does!

The summer box office is booming — but not because of the usual suspects. After three weeks of indie horror dominance at the box office, the slasher spoof "Scary Movie" topped ticket sales with $55 million over the weekend, according to studio estimates Sunday, easily besting the far-from-mighty "Masters of the Universe."

Carolina trails Vegas in the Stanley Cup Final and has a big decision to make for Game 4

A sequence of events in a Stanley Cup Final that has gotten crazier by the minute has put the Carolina Hurricanes at a crossroads. They blew a two-goal lead and lost Game 1, erased a two-goal deficit and won Game 2, and rallied from down four goals in Game 3, only to lose in double overtime on a fluky bounce.
