Ken & Tawinee

Kurt’s Blog: Just 4 Short Months Ago, I Had Never Even Seen the Show…

4 months ago, I had never seen an episode of Breaking Bad…but thanks to Netflix (and an undying determination), I watched the first four seasons in about 6 weeks…and then Ken & I split the cost of the first 8 episodes of Season 5 on DVD.

It’s crazy to think that just 4 months ago, I had no idea how great this show was…how addictive it was…and how much I want Aaron Paul to be my best friend.

I give credit to my Breaking Bad fandom to both Ken & Colleen. Colleen was the first fan amongst the three of us…and her continued talking about it got Ken interested, and then finally, I decided that I needed to start watching as well.

The plot of each episodes is so good…and everything in every episode can be interpreted to mean something. It’s fantastic, and it’s so much fun to watch.

The Episode That Affected Me for a Week

Dead Freight

It was my favorite episode, far & away…the whole train robbery was so exciting, so intense….and Bill Burr stalling on the railroad tracks added some comedy to the thrill…and then Todd goes and shoots Drew (the kid on the dirtbike).

That came from so out of nowhere that it absolutely floored me. Floored me. I had to rewind and watch it again…a few times. As the credits rolled, I just sat & stared. It was jaw-dropping.

I’m still bothered thinking of it.

Stupid, stupid Todd. I can’t wait to see Todd laying dead on the floor this Sunday.

My Official Prediction

This is my official prediction for how Breaking Bad will end…

Walt returns…and during a massive shootout with Jack and his gang…Jesse sabotages the meth lab, which causes it blow up…killing Jesse & Todd…and maybe Lydia. Lydia has to die somehow, but I haven’t figured that out yet.

Walt then brings the ricin to kill Elliott & Gretchen.

I don’t know what happens after that…does Walt die as well? Not sure. Does he return to New Hampshire to die alone of cancer?

Everyone wants to know what’s happened with Skyler and the kids, but I’m hoping that they don’t pay much attention to this at all…I feel that that plot line is done & over. This finale is all Walt v. the gang…Jesse v. Todd…no one is getting out of this alive (or at the least, in good shape).

I seriously can’t wait for the finale….unlike “Lost” & “Dexter”…I have confidence that this finale won’t disappoint. Both those other shows seemed to have lost their way, and it showed during the finale…but not with Breaking Bad. It’s going to blow us away.

AWESOME is as AWESOME does!
