My daughter Priscilla stayed home from school yesterday due to that cough/cold that everyone seems to be having lately.
Priscilla hearts…HEARTS…Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood. It’s far and away her favorite show, and she knows full well the policy at our house of “If you’re sick, we cater to you.” What did this mean for me? Approximately 5 1/2 hours…or 12 episodes…with 2 episodes each…so 24 “scenarios”…24 different songs…24 times checking out the “neighbors”.
The result of this? My daughter felt better…which is the best news…and as a pleasant side effect….I am now the most polite I have ever been.
If I’m feeling frustrated…I’ll just take a step back, and ask for help.
Everyone’s job is important…We all help in different ways.
When you feel jealous…talk about it…And we’ll figure something out!
We’ve gotta look a little…Look a little….To find out what we want to know.
Remember there’s something special inside
That helps us with being so mad
You can take control when things go wrong
Just by remembering this song
Think about how someone else is feeling
Think about how someone else feels
Maybe you can help them feel better
My tiger cake, it got smushy
But it still tastes so yummy
When something seems bad
Turn it around
And find something good
Use your words, use your words
Use your words and say how you feel
Most problems can be solved
When you use your words
If something seems hard to do
Try it a little bit at a time
A little bit little bit at a time.
I think I owe Daniel Tiger a $25 co-pay or something.
