I was so excited that my wife, Jennifer, and Colleen were able to participate in the Iowa Ladies Football Academy on Saturday. My wife lovvvvvesss this day!
I’m super proud of her for many reasons…one, because she’s awesome, of course, but also because when it comes to the Iowa Ladies Football Academy, she sets out on goals to meet the players & coaches…which ends in tremendous success.
This year, I gave Jennifer a post-it note…and while she appreciated the effort, she said “I know this…and your handwriting is terrible“.
What are you talking about? That clearly reads 6- Ihmir Smith-Marsette – WR. 🙂 Seriously, I am such little help.
She didn’t need my help…as you can see.

I was surprised that there wasn’t more of a celebration dance, but as Jennifer told me, “Seriously Kurt, act like you’ve been there before“.

Then there was more photos sent to me (while I was at the Children’s Museum with the kids, which, thankfully, wasn’t busy at all!) Oh, and she sends me shout-outs to rub it in, lol

When the kids and i went to pick her up from “Camp”….Jennifer, since they’re BFFs now, was kind enough to introduce me to AJ Epenesa…and we took our family Christmas photo, ha ha.
It was a beautiful afternoon…and all the incredible ladies raised over $300,000 for the Stead Childrens’ Hospital in Iowa City. It’s such a great Saturday, and Jennifer already has it on her calendar for next year! A huge thank you to Mary Ferentz, her entire staff, and everyone in the Hawkeye Football program for putting together such a fantastic afternoon!
