Kurt’s Blog: My Zoo Nemesis…and Myth v. Reality

The above llama is responsible for spitting on me…right in my face.

As Chrystal wrote on the Ken & Colleen Facebook page “He doesn’t look sad about it either”. That’s no joke…that smug llama.

All I was doing was petting its back while he walked by…the third time back my direction, he looks right at me…and spits right in my face. In my face!

Oh, and it wasn’t just a little bit of spit…it was enough that a Blank Park Zoo worker asked if I wanted a towel.

My kids? Oh, they both laughed hysterically.

This llama & I have had issues for a long time…he’s never really liked me…but this is ridiculous.

Myth v. Reality:

Myth: Kurt never pays attention at Staff Meetings.

Reality: Kurt never pays attention at Staff Meetings.

Applause v. Roar

It’s on…the battle of Katy Perry v. Lady Gaga…will it be Katy’s “Roar” or Lady G’s “Applause” that will reign supreme?

I’ve heard them both…and yes, I do think “Roar” does resemble Sara Bareilles’ “Brave”…but that’s alright with me, both songs are excellent…in the battle of “Roar” v. “Applause”….I side with…”Roar”.

Part of it is just because I’m more of a Katy Perry fan anyway, but I don’t know, I think “Applause” will be one of those songs that’ll have to grow on me. “Roar”, I liked right away.

By the way, Lady Gaga’s new makeup is being called genius…did they not see Jack Nicholson as the Joker in 1989’s Batman movie? He was doing the exact same thing to his “models” in that movie.

Best Breaking Bad Theory I’ve Heard

Walt takes on traits of people he’s killed…

Crazy 8 liked his PB&J sandwiches with the crust cut off….after Walt offs Crazy 8…Walt, too, cuts off his crust.

Gus drove a Volvo…Walt kills Gus…in Season 5, Episode 1…Walt is driving a Volvo.

Walt takes his drink neat…Mike tooks his drink on the rocks…Walt kills Mike…and now Walt takes his drinks on the rocks.

In Season 5, Episode 1…we see Walt using bacon to write out his age on his eggs….who else did that? Oh that’s right, in Season 4…Skyler did that.

Since we see an in-the-future Walt…and obviously bad things have happened…could Walt have killed Skyler? AWESOME!

(I did not come up with this theory, but what a great theory)

By the way…from Breaking Bad’s Sunday night episode, someone went an animated Badger’s epic Star Trek Idea.

Do You Know What I Don’t Get?
Twerking…and our fascination with Twerking. It’s just rump-shaking.Wreckx-N-Effect told us to do this in 1993…then Juvenile told us to Back that Thang Up in 1998. I don’t get headlines that read “Miley Cyrus Twerks It”. She’s just dancing, who cares?

What I really don’t get? The # of “Twerking”-related t-shirts I’ve seen out at the Fair this year! Hey…guys over the age of 30…no “Twerking” shirts allowed…oh, and I saw 4 of you just this past Friday.

Branden Oliver

You’ve heard his “Deep Fried” parody of “Blurred Lines”…and it’s incredible. Branden Oliver put a fantastic album as well…and you can buy it on Itunes. Do it…and be happy.

AWESOME is as AWESOME does!
