Yesterday, Motley Crue announced (and signed the proper paperwork?) that they will do one “Final Tour”, and then they’ll call it quits.
7/11 – Wells Fargo Arena – Motley Crue….I’m there, no doubt.
I had the opportunity to be front row when Motley Crue played Vets back, what was, maybe 2006? It was incredible. Mick Mars had just had his knee (maybe hip?) surgery…and I think he enjoyed me asking him about it (he responded to me anyways). It was such a great show…
Also, I ran into Tommy Lee in Omaha while he was filming his short-lived reality show…that dude is rock star personified, and he was a totally chill guy.
I also interviewed Vince Neil over the phone…and I’ll admit, I was a terrible interviewer. I asked him about his hair? and what chores his wife makes him do? What? This is why Ken & Colleen should never let me do solo interviews ever, ever again. By the way, Vince Neil’s hotel code name? Ask for Mel Lowe. That’s fantastic, and I think that’s something that probably a lot of rock stars don’t do anymore.
From hearing my first Crue songs while in 6th grade…to giving devil horns in the Red Carpet Room of the fraternity house (I’m not mentioning them by name anymore, they keep badgering me for donations) at Drake…to just yesterday, when I had “Too Fast for Love” all queued up on my playlist…the Crue is one of my favs.
By the way, spoiler alert…when 7/11 rolls around…I’m just going to be re-posting this Blog.
