Kurt’s Blog: Scary Movies, Macklemore…and umm…more. Darn it.

(I think the above photo was from 4 years ago…yes, my wife went as Brit-Brit…I went as “lazy man who didn’t think up a costume”)

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis

Tonight’s Macklemore concert is going to be AWESOME. I’m bummed I’m going to be missing it, but I’m really looking forward to going out for Beggar’s Night with the family tonight.

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis live in Milan

(Ask me again at 7:15 when I’m soaked…and the kids refuse to give me any of their good candy, ha ha).

My Favorite/Top 15 Scary Movies

Note: I didn’t put “Troll 2” or “Halloween 3: Season of the Witch” on this list, but they both are definitely my guilty pleasure when it comes to horror movies. The scene from Halloween 3 with the bugs coming out of the head…still haunts me. Oh, we could put Sleepaway Camp on that list too. (Worst/Weirdest twist ending ever).

Note #2: I can’t handle movies like “Insiduous” & “The Conjuring”, so they aren’t on this list.

15. Night of the Giant Lepus (giant rabbits terrorizing a town?)freddy

14. Saw

13. The Blair Witch Project

12. The Omen

11. The Fog

10. Paranormal Activity

9. Poltergeist

8. Nightmare on Elm Street

7. Shaun of the Dead

6. Evil Dead 2

5. Arachnaphobia

4. The Descent (tie) / The Fly

3. Halloween

2. Aliens

1. Scream

In terms of scariest movies…obviously, and embarrassingly, The Blair Witch Project still haunts me to my very core….but also…The Descent is completely terrifying.

Top 5 Halloween Candies

4. 3 Musketeers

3. Snickers

1. Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups

Oh, and because the country is more divided on this than healthcare reform…I’m a candy corn fan. Love it.

Two Videos I’m Really Enjoying This Morning

Two of my favorite things…Pearl Jam (performing Lou Reed’s “I’m Waiting for the Man) & Back to the Future (What if it was real?)

Yes!

Dolly Parton

Dolly Parton was in a car accident last week, and luckily wasn’t injured….but I kept

waiting…when will someone make the obvious joke? Days passed…and no one said it…then the AWESOME Dolly Parton herself made the joke…

“This lady pulled out in front of us and we hit her. Thank goodness we weren’t going fast. Nobody’s airbags inflated or deflated…mine or Nissan’s”.

Thank you Dolly!

AWESOME is AWESOME does!
