Kurt’s Blog: Send Me to Red Bull Rehab

Does Red Bull Rehab exist? If it does, I think I need to be admitted. I had been battling a headache for about 36 hours…Tylenol…Aleve…a nap…no help. I had a Red Bull yesterday afternoon…and Boom! Headache instantly gone.

I thought about this, and realized it had been about 48 hours since I had had a Red Bull. Was this a withdrawal headache? Are these withdrawal symptoms? This can’t be good.

Dear A&E,

You shouldn’t have cancelled Intervention. We had one more candidate for the show.

Sincerely,

Red Bull addict.

A Rainy Downtown Farmers Market

Even though it was rainy as heck on Saturday, it didn’t stop us from braving the Downtown Farmers Market…and the kids didn’t seem to care that it was raining!

(Okay, Dexter doesn’t look happy about the rain)

(Priscilla & Papa were fine with it though)

(Jennifer & Priscilla share a mayo/cheese corn on the cob. Priscilla devoured it…it’s her new favorite food. I’m unsure how I feel about mayo on corn.)

Alice in Chains

When Layne Staley passed away in the early 2000s, Alice in Chains, for me, died as well. They did go find a new lead singer, but I didn’t pay much attention…however, their new album “The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here” is fantastic, and it harkins back to the grungy AIC that I was such a big fan of.

Top 8 Alice in Chains Songs (NOTE: This list is very heavy on the “Jar of Flies” EP…one of my favorite albums ever.)

1. Don’t Follow

2. Rain When I Die

3. Nutshell

4. Them Bones

5. No Excuses

6. Brother

7. Got Me Wrong

8. I Stay Away

Mmm….Hops

I didn’t think I’d ever write this, but Hanson, yes, the band HANSON, just came up with the best name for a beer ever…MmmmHops! First off…well done on the name, second off…well done on developing your own beer line. Apparently, during the premiere of Hangover 3, it was MmmmHops that was served. Most AWESOME…and I look forward to trying it.

Note: 2nd place for best beer name? “Little White Rye” by Sam Adams…it’s one of their seasonal beers this summer, and holy cow, it’s fantastic.

Time to Head to Kansas City?
Oceans of Fun…sure…Worlds of Fun…sure. I know those are fun…but they just got even better. They’re opening a Chickie’s & Pete’s at Worlds of Fun. Chickie’s & Pete’s is a Philadelphia philly cheese steak place, but more importantly, they invented/make the the crabfries…which are the greatest fries ever. I’ve only had them once, but I’m still trying to duplicate them…with horribly, horribly unimpressive results.

This Duck!
This duck is beginning to tick me off a bit….we never see her…she’s laying eggs…and then yesterday I go investigate, and now all but two of the eggs are gone?! There are no shell pieces anywhere, there are no tracks, and the nest seems to be perfectly intact. What is going on here? Did she move them?

2013-05-29_10-41-13_944

Google says that they might move them from time to time, apparently.

What duck? My backyard not good enough for you anymore?

AWESOME is as AWESOME does
