Kurt’s Blog: Some of My Favorite Fairytale Wedding Photos

Big Ken & Colleen’s Fair-ytale Wedding!

What a great morning it was on Friday at the Iowa State Fair! 26 couples getting hitched….and everyone seemed to have a really good time.

Here are a couple photos from the wedding that haven’t shown up on Star1025.com yet (mainly because they are of me….and everyone knew that I would post them here anyways).

This was right after the wedding…I don’t know why I did this…but I did a weird, slow, open-arms thing at the end. (It’s what I do in softball after a good play…it’s Cam Newton-esque for those who follow football)

That’s Mike…he & Tracy Arthur put together the timeline for the whole wedding…and both had to go to many, many more meetings than I had. Thank you to both for all their incredible work.

With some of the couples at the Iowa Craft Beer Tent…which has become my favorite place at the Fair

It was an honor to do the wedding…I got asked about it a lot over the weekend…and it truly was a honor, and I hope all the couples continue to be as happy as they were on Friday!

My Wife the Photographer, Part 2

A few weeks ago I put up this photo….it’s from the Taylor Swift show…and she cut off my head…

I made note that in our family, I’m the photographer…Jennifer is AWESOME at so many things…picture taking? Not one of them.

Case in point…The Giant Slide on Sunday.

Here’s the pic I took of Jennifer & Dexter going down the slide:

Nice, right?

Here’s the photo Jennifer took of me & Dexter…

To be fair…this would have been a good photo…but Dexter & I are directly behind the only sign on the fence.

However, then I took our daughter Priscilla down the Giant Slide, and this is the photo:

Perfect.

She doesn’t do this on purpose…but she knows right away…when she hands me the camera, she says “Yeah, you’re not going to like those.”

Breaking Bad

So last night’s episode was a solid one…not one of my favorites, but an excellent episode to help us advance on to where we need to be.

Seriously…Todd is back? How is this punk still alive, and how is getting to the top?

Jesse going around and around on that merry-go-round in the beginning was an incredible moment.

This IS the Fair

What is the Fair? A cute little girl holding a corndog that is nearly half her height….and a handsome little boy wearing a Batman costume holding a corndog in front of a tractor.

Usually, I only make it to the Fair once…maybe twice…each year. This year…Friday…Sunday….Thursday…Friday…Sunday….5 times. New record!

Oops

Totally forgot that the Warrior Dash is this Saturday morning in Earlham…that’s a 5k…hmm…haven’t quite run 1k in about 2 months now. Hmmm….in future news, ouch.

AWESOME is as AWESOME does!
