Last night, my son and I went to his first Iowa Energy game…actually, his first real basketball game at all…and now, I may have an Iowa Energy superfan on my hands (which is a great thing!)
He and I had such a blast (the whole family was supposed to go last night, but my daughter wasn’t feeling the best…I’ll have to take her next time for sure).
Do you know what a 5-year old loves? Basketball…and Surge. Surge is awesome.

Oh, there’s a third thing…but that’ll be mentioned in a moment.
Dexter is big into numbers right now, so he couldn’t be more impressed with the shot clock counting down…the new scoreboard (which is awesome)…and the chant of “De-Fense“.
He…got…into it!

I didn’t feel that the game was well-officiated last night, so I was vocal about some calls at times last night, and you know what? Dexter just joined right in. Any shot Canton made? Dexter would get irritated…an answer by the Energy? Instant happiness.
He loved it all…the game…the music (he loves saying Ric Flair‘s “Whoooo” right now)…and on the way home was already asking me when we could go again. For sure bud, for sure.
Oh, the third thing my son loved about the game?

We were leaving, and some cheerleaders were thanking everyone for coming to the game…Dexter waved at her, and we kept walking…we walk out the first set of doors, and I asked him “Did you want a picture”…he said no…a few steps later, he turns around, looks back at the cheerleader…turns back to me and tells me “Hang on dad, I’ve changed my mind”…and a picture was taken.
So…looking for a great night for the whole family? Iowa Energy game.
Looking for awesome Christmas gift? Iowa Energy tickets.
Looking for a great gift anyone? Tickets to the Energy game on January 15th…why the 15th? Oh, I don’t know…it might have something to do with Ric Flair being there! Whooooo!
AWESOME is as AWESOME does!
