Tell me why everyone raves about American Horror Story?
I watched the entire season of “Asylum” (and while I enjoyed the first 7-8 episodes, it totally fell apart at the end…really, no explanation of the aliens?)…couldn’t get past 3 episodes of “Coven” last year (due to boredom, and the fact that it was nearly the exact same setup as Asylum)…and after just the season premiere last week, I’m done with “Freak Show”.
Someone will have to explain to me what the appeal of this show is….it’s not a horror show, it’s just a series of uncomfortable scenes. Who are we supposed to root for in this season? The freaks? They’ve already killed someone (an innocent one at that)….obviously, not Twisty the Clown…and then, who else is there?
Also…thank goodness for the DVR…there’s no way I could have sat through Jessica Lange (who’s a fantastic actress) singing a 4+ minute Cabaret song.
It’s should be renamed American Shocking Story….or American Uncomfortable Story.
And what’s up with Kathy Bates’ make-up? All the costumes/makeup on other characters, yet, her fake beard looks like something you could buy out of a dollar bin somewhere. It look so cheap.
I read the recap of last night’s episode just to see if I was missing something…and what a surprise, it’s just another version of “Asylum”. Rich guy with severe mommy issues…Twisty is just another version of BloodyFace….and Jessica Lange delivering long-form monologues that will eventually never pay off.
The show has strayed from…let’s give the audience a scare to…let’s just see what we can actually get on TV.
