Until we had kids, I would leave my wife little love Sticky-Notes for her in the bathroom every morning. Since I would leave the house before 4…I wouldn’t see her until at least 1 in the afternoon.

Then we had kids…and I just got lazy with the notes…maybe I was too tired…my wife might have been even too tired to read them for that matter.

About a month ago, I started leaving drawings/notes for my kids when I leave for work. I knew my son loved them, but as I was picking up his room yesterday…I found his Mickey Mouse Clubhouse toolbox…and it was filled with them.

He’s kept them all!

Well, that’s not true…he’s kept most of them…I left him this one this past Wednesday…

I was informed by my wife…and later by Dexter (about 6 times) that the rocket wasn’t “cool” enough. Alrighty…getting a little demanding, don’t ya think? Ha ha.

As you can see…I am no artist. Eventually, he will catch onto this, and I’ll be in trouble. My wife tells me that as soon as he wakes up, he races to the back door to see what I’ve left him. There was a morning that I forgot, and as I’ve been told…it wasn’t pretty. There was a morning 2 weeks ago that I made it all the way to work…realized that I had the drawings in my pocket…and quickly made a return trip home. Yes…drove an extra 30 minutes just for the drawings.

My daughter hasn’t said much about the drawings…she usually gets a princess drawing or a kitty…which are also drawn terribly.

I gave her one with a heart this past Thursday, and apparently that was a huge hit. She even brought it to daycare with her.

When do “Drawing Adult Education” programs start? The kids are going to be on to my lack of skills soon!
