Kurt’s Blog: Tell Childhood Kurt That He Does NOT Want to be an Astronaut!

Gravity

I went and saw Gravity on Friday afternoon, and it’s AWESOME….an absolutely incredible movie. If you were on the fence on seeing it…don’t be…go see it. You will be on the edge of your seat the entire time….I was…what a thrill ride…in a supercool…not in your face thrill ride.

The only downside to the movie? Oh, the final realization that I would have made an absolutely terrible astronaut. Someone go build a DeLorean time machine, go back to 1985, and tell 7-year old Kurt…”Astronaut life is not for you. Think about being an accountant.”

If all the stuff that happens in the first 7 minutes of Gravity had happened to me…I would have been dead…instantly….and screaming like a child the entire way. Not very brave…not very heroic.

Seriously, the whole idea of just floating through space with nothing to stop you? Terrifying.

The images/special effects are incredible…and I want to know how they did it.

Gravity is another great reminder also of how incredibly talented Sandra Bullock is…so without further ado…

Miley Cyrus on SNL

The Internet is wrong…she wasn’t funny. I don’t know what everyone else saw…but I saw 3/4 of it, and mustered only a smile once. Yet, I turn on the Internet this morning, and it’s reacting like it was the greatest thing on TV since the end of Breaking Bad.
I Almost Bought Myself Some Time

Saturday, at the Earl May Pumpkin Festival, they had pony rides, and as evident by the photo below…it would appear that I’ve bought a few years before I have to buy my daughter a pony!

(NOTE: Apparently, though, 30 seconds into her trip on the pony…she loved it…and immediately wants a pony. Darn it)

Why Would This Ever Happen?

It’s Billy Ray Cyrus singing…and then joined by Limp Bizkit’s Fred Durst. Why? Oh why?

When you add Fred Durst…things only get worse…immediately.

AWESOME is as AWESOME does
