Kurt’s Blog: The Best Award Show Performances Ever?

With the Grammys on Sunday night, a list came out of the “Best Award Show Performances Ever”…and it’s a fine list…but what I thought should be #1 & #2 on the list weren’t even on the list…

Here was Billboard’s list…and again, it’s a fine list…

  1. Beyonce’s “Lemonade” Medley at the VMAs in 2016
  2. Madonna’s “Like a Virgin” at the VMAs in 1984
  3. Prince & the Revolution’s “Purple Rain” at the AMAs in 1985.

4. Aretha Frankin’s “Nessun Dorma” at the Grammys’ in 1998

5. Lady Gaga’s “Paparazzi” at the VMAs in 2009.

6. Pearl Jam & Neil Young at the VMAs in 1993.

7. Pink’s “Glitter in the Air” at the Grammys in 2010.

8. Kanye’s “Runaway” at the VMAs in 2010.

9. Nirvana’s “Lithium” at the VMAS in 1992.

10. Mariah Carey’s “Vision of Love” at the Grammys in 1991.

11. Michael Jackson at the Grammys in 1998.

Again, fine list….no complaints…but My Top 2 from an Awards show?

#1 The Imagine Dragons & Kendrick Lamar doing “Radioactive” at the Grammys in 2014.

#2

Mary J. Blige doing “No More Drama” at the Grammys in 2002…so emotional…so powerful.

After watching those two vids…I might have to flip ’em…the Mary J. Blige is just so good.

AWESOME is as AWESOME does!
