Kurt’s Blog: The Culmination of My Son’s Being

This was it…the happiest moment in my 2 1/2 year old’s son’s life…

Meeting Dora…holy cow.

We’ve been a sick house lately. My daughter had the stomach flu, then my wife caught it…I caught something weird yesterday, and I don’t know how I’m feeling today to be honest. My kids alternated when they wanted to be awake last night, so be easy on my wife & I today please. We are tired.

That said, Sunday morning, Dexter & I headed over to Kidsfest, and got there early enough to be part of Dora’s Birthday Celebration. Umm…he was excited to say the least.

Even better? They had cookies in the shape of Dora characters…(I’m totally blanking on the cookie maker’s name, and that’s a shame…they were AWESOME)…and when Dexter saw they had a Boots cookie, he flipped. It didn’t matter that Dora was doing the hokey-pokey 10 feet from him…he had a Boots cookie, and loved every bite.

If anyone who was there remembers the cookie maker’s name, please leave it in the comments below…they were excellent & deserve the recognition.

By the Way…Kill the Bat

As many of you heard during a What Will Kurt Do Wednesdays…I am terrified of bats. With that being said, that endangered bat that they found here that’s halting construction on I-80? I say…like Bane…kill the bat. The less bats the better. It’s not even about improving the roadways…it’s about ending the terror of bats.

Twilight 2 & Skyfall
I watched both movies while my wife and I were trying to recover the past few days…I preferred Skyfall.

It’s not because I’m a guy either…it’s just that I was disappointed with the final Twilight installment. Nothing happened. In the end…nothing happened. Everything I was excited for, and though happened…didn’t happen. Is that the twist that wasn’t in the book? I don’t know…I just found the whole thing lackluster.

Skyfall on the other hand was excellent…a grittier Bond is much better than the one with all the toys. Plus, more Judi Dench is always a good thing.

Marky Mark & the Funky Bunch Reuniting?

Hells yes. That’s all I say about that rumor. There’s no way Mark Wahlberg would start rapping again, though, right?

Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers

I’ve always wanted to see them in concert…I missed them when they came to open the Wells Fargo Arena years ago…so, naturally, I was excited to see them announce a tour…and then, much like Justin Timberlake, disappointed by seeing that there were really no tour dates anywhere in the Midwest. Bummer.

That said…
