Yes, this past Friday was dominated by Adele dropping her new song “Hello”…which is fantastic…but it overshadowed another great music event…

Carrie Underwood released her new album “Storytellers”…and it’s AWESOME.

I make no bones about my love for Carrie Underwood…my wife is cool with this…in fact, she once bought me a Carrie Underwood sweatshirt for Christmas.

It’s rare that I listen to an album all the way through…in fact, in the past few years, probably just the latest album from Pearl Jam….The Bleachers’ album…and Carrie Underwood’s “Storytellers”. In fact, I’ve listened to the whole thing twice…in 3 days.

Do you know what will get you weird looks, when you pull up to a mini-van at 100th & Douglas…and you come across a 37-year old man belting out  “Dirty Laundry” (the “Before He Cheats” of this album).

So many good songs on this album. “Renegade Runaway”…”Heartbeat”…”Chaser”…of course “Smoke Break”. Who can’t relate in one way or another to Smoke Break?

I was thinking her track “Mexico” was going to be my new island-themed “One Way Ticket”…but no, it’s almost like “Something Bad” sans Miranda.

“Choctow County Affair”…fantastic.

So, if you’re thinking, hmm…it’s been a long a time since I’ve bought an album…”Storytellers” would work great for you.

Kurt, was this blog just nothing more than an attempt for Carrie Underwood to notice you?
